Ester Lumbo
Ester Lumbo hails from Calatrava, Negros Occidental and is in the business of manufacturing export-quality bags made of pandan.
Her business began in1996 when she moved back to Calatrava from Manila after she had her newborn daughter treated for a heart ailment. Her business grew with the help of Project Dungganon, the microfinance program of NWTF.
She currently employs 30 workers who make native pandan bags that are sold in Cebu, Bacolod, and as far as Hawaii.
Ester Lumbo was awarded the Masikap National Award on November 17, 2010 at the Tall Galleries, Metropolitan Museum of Manila, BSP Complex.
